Students in tertiary institutions across Nigeria have been advised to humble themselves, love one another, focus on their studies even as they continue to reach the unreached for Christ .
The vice president, Qua Iboe Church Students Fellowship of Nigeria (QICSFON), Ikot Osurua Chapter, Mama Mary Dickson, gave the advice in a sermon during Tuesday’sFellowship, February 22, 2022 at Qua Iboe Church, Abuja Street, Ikot Osurua, Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area..
Preaching on the theme, The Elects God Set Sons, taken from I Corinthians 12:18- 25, Dickson said God expects his children to live by example by not just preaching but living with His word , stressing that when people shine the light of God for others to see, others would be attracted to Christ.
She enjoined students to forgive those who hurt them as demonstrated by Jesus Christ even on the Cross, adding that humility, forgiveness, peace, love, gentleness and long suffering were attributes of God’s elect.
Dickson, who is a student of Estate Management and Valuation Department of the polytechnic, called on students to allow humility to be their watchword, warning against pride that could truncate their academic excellence .
She therefore charged “Qisfonites” to rise and shine by intensifying efforts on evangelism, be dedicated and committed to studies, adding that hardwork, humility and determination will guarantee success.
The national coordinator of QICSFON, Pastor EkomobongEkpenyong, has commended the peaceful process that characterised the conduct of the chapter elections.
Represented by a national patron of the body, Etieno Ibanga, Ekpenyong applauded the Papa Ndifreke Ibanga-led executive for piloting the affairs of the body with decorum which translated to the sucess recorded during his tenure.
He charged the incoming leadership led by Papa UnyimeEyekong to continue to render selfless service to God and humanity, saying their efforts will be rewarded by God.
The national coordinator enjoined students not to toy with their studies even as they continue to serve God in spirit and in truth,praying God to continue to empower them to team up with the church leadership to achieve greater results.
The Fellowship which featured drama by Vision Achievers, thanksgiving as well as get- together was attended by Elder Ibanga Jimmy, national patron of QICSFON, who also congratulated the students on the peaceful and transparent conduct of the chapter’s election.
