ESSIEN UDIM
A PDP Caucus member in Essien Udim Local Government Area and chairman of Board of Trustees of the Sarah Enang Humanitarian Foundation, Dr Wisdom Patrick Enang, has affirmed that the support base of the Peoples Democratic Party in Essien Udim is massive and huge.
Enang stated this in Upenekang, the Ibeno Local Government Council headquarters, venue of the PDP campaign rally held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, while addressing newsmen.
He said the campaign agenda of Pastor Umo Bassey Eno tagged ARISE, has a very holistic blueprint which communicates in an issue-based manner towards governance, and craved the indulgence of all Akwa Ibomites to embrace same, as it is best for the state.
While observing that Essien Udim Local Government Area was before now at the crescendo of violence where one could not get to without adequate intelligence and security details, Enang said today the narrative has changed.
He thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel through whose visionary leadership and acumen the sad story has been erased, saying the area now basks in peace and tranquility.
Befor now, I could not visit the land of my nativity without first calling to find out security information such as: which area was encumbered with conflict, where the tension was actively going on, and where I could safely pass by. But today, the story has completely changed, thanks to Governor Udom Emmanuel for his security consciousness and-value driven vision”, he said.
Enang maintained that for people to come out in large numbers to support and grace the PDP campaign rally in Ibeno, it means that primarily they have accepted the ARISE Agenda and are ready to provide the imperatives to actualize same, including overwhelmingly voting Pastor Umo Eno in as governor to achieve this agenda.
He encouraged Essien Udim indigenes and other Akwa Ibomites to come and contribute more value to make the area even better, the pace having been set already by the governor.
The oil and gas consultant reiterated that Essien Udim was not just PDP, but shall continually be PDP in years to come, a notion he harped not from fanatical or partisan standpoint, but from a value-driven standpoint, considering the gains the party has brought to Essien Udim and Akwa Ibom at large, notably peace, economic development and prosperity, to mention but a few.
The engineer-turned-philanthropist stressed that the choice of Pastor Umo Eno is one of prosperity, progressive development and systematic governance, which Akwa Ibom people must grab now or never, even as he called on all and sundry to embrace the opportunity for a better Akwa Ibom.
