…Commend Governor Emmanuel’s Visionary Leadership

ONNA

Youths in Onna Local Government Area have declared support for Pastor Umo Eno as the next governor of Akwa Ibom, come 2023.

They made their position known during a solidarity rally held in Onna at the weekend in support of Governor Udom Emmanuel and in solidarity with Pastor Umo Eno as the “preferred successor.”

Addressing the youths, the National Youth Council chairman, Barr Theodore William, said they took the decision following the developmental strides of the governor and the peace and stability the state has experienced during the last seven years.

William commended the efforts of Mr. Udom Emmanuel’s administration on road construction, infrastructure and other projects in the state, especially in the education sector.

He said that the youths from Onna would ensure the victory of the PDP at the poll.

In their separate speeches, youth leaders in the local government area, said the present administration has brought peace, stability, development and is therefore deserving the support from the populace.

“Akwa Ibom youth are very happy with this government. The youths and the people of Onna are behind you in the project to ensure the victory of Pastor Umo Eno at the polls,” William said.

In his remarks, the chairman of Onna Local Government Area, Elder Iniabasi Ekanem, urged the youths to mobilise support for the PDP and resist all acts of intimidation from persons planning to unleash violence on the state as their only strategy to become governor.

The chairman, who urged the youths to be peaceful in the process of the campaigns for the election, stressed that election should not be seen as a war but a democratic process of leadership selection.

He noted that the governor, as the leader of the party in the state, has spoken and has given direction for people to follow.

He stressed that Pastor Umo Eno will continue in the developmental efforts of the present administratio
