Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, his Deputy, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo and other Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) public office-holders in the state within the past seven years, have been commended by a frontline nongovernmental organisation (NGO) in the state, the Gbo-Gbaa Loodum Pia Ogoni, Opobo/Nkoro Chapter.

The NGO commended them for bringing development to the people in the grassroots, describing their performance of seven years after as monumental and borne out of quality managerial skills, wisdom and love for the people.

The commendation was given at Opobo, headquarters of Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area, shortly after its national executive council meeting, by the national coordinator, Elder Mmue Ledum; and national secretary, Mr. Kpabari Sunday. The group said the leaders were embodiments of quality and remarkable virtues while in the corridors of power.

The group, while congratulating them on their successful seven years in governance, stated that their contributions towards the good of Rivers people remained a promise fulfilled.

According to the group, “The body has assessed Your Excellencies and your team of technocrats in your seven years of quality service to the good people of the state, and has concluded that you all are embodiments of wisdom, diligence, compassion, dedication and trustworthiness.

“During your electioneering campaign tour to Ogoni communities, you made promises of fixing the roads and other facilities. A few years after your swearing-in as governor and deputy governor respectively, you swung into action, and todayour roads have rapid rehabilitation”.

They commended the governor and his team for restoring quality development legacy to the 23 local government areas in the state and the multiple appointments given to Ogoni people.

Meanwhile, the group also lauded the governor for finding the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Sir Siminialayi Joseph Fubara; and his running mate, Prof Ngozi Ordu; worthy of succeeding him next year.

They described the choice as a sign of better things to come to the state, especially Rivers South-East Senatorial District in the past 55 years of the creation of the state.

The NGO also used the opportunity to assure Fubara, Ordu and other PDP candidates of mobilising and sensitising Ogoni elector are for massive votes for them in the February and March, 2023 general polls, adding that, “we are ready to ensure total victory for Fubara, Ordu and other PDP candidates in the elections next year.
