Governor Udom Emmanuel’s completion agena and succession plans have received the support and cooperation of the Itumbonuso Ward 3 Youths of Ini Local Government Area.
The vibrant youths of the Itumbonuso Ward 3 made their position in this regard known through a motion by Mr. Afangide Ndom supported by Mr Lawrence Augustine without any objection during the special meeting that was held at Ananamong community in Ini Local Government Area slated by the commissioner for agriculture, Dr Offiong Offor.
The youths of the area who turned out in large number at the special meeting, said their decision to swim and sink with Governor Emmanuel and to vote for all candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) was informed by the appointment of their daughter, Dr Offiong Offor, into the state executive council as commissioner for agriculture and the execution of other laudable development projects in the state.
Speaking through their Youths’ Caucus leader, Mr Lawrence Augustine, the youthz noted with delight the establishment of coconut plantations in Mkpu community and inauguration of cocoa fermentation and drying centre at Ananamong community, expressing optimism that with Offor as commissioner more development and employment opportunities would be made favourable to them.
In their separate goodwill messages, the chapter youth leader, Mr Paul Ise, the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) youth leader, Mr James Nyah and others appreciated Governor Emmanuel for giving their daughter a good platform to serve in the state executive council and for initiating other impactful development projects in their community.
The commissioner for agriculture, Dr. Offiong Offor, explained that the town-hall meeting was arranged by her to solicite the support of Itumbonuso Ward 3 youths for Governor Udom Emmanuel’s completion agenda and succession plan.
Offor remarked that the forum was for her to enlighten them on what they would stand to benefit should they vote for the success of all candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP )from Presidency to the State House of Assembly Elections during the 2023 general elections in the country.
She applauded the governor for giving Itu Mbonuso and Ini Local Government Area the opportunity to be represented in the state executive council, establishing a coconut plantation, cocoa fermentation factory, among other community development projects in the area.
“I sincerely appreciate the PDP-led government in the state for exhibiting good governance. Last week the state government established a coconut plantation in Ini, which is a channel for employment and income generation,” the commissioner stated.
The don reasoned that the youths are the strength of the nation,hence their involvement in activities will yield positive outcomes.
According to her, the Peoples Democratic Party, with the symbol of an umbrella, is big enough to accommodate everyone, saying that coverage represents development, power, progress and security, and solicited for their continued support of the government and the party for more development to come to them in the near future.
In his remarks, Dr Samuel Offor advised all the youths of the area to protect their Permanent Voters Cards, being their power to vote for PDP candidates, advising those without voter card to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC ) for them to be legible to participate in the electoral process.
