The special assistant to Gov Udom Emmanuel on research and documentation has taken up the sponsorship of three young people in skills acquisition at a confectionery facility, Basselen Confectionaries.
Mr Essien Ndueso has also commended the progenitor of the confectionery facility, Miss Helen Bassey for embracing Gov Udom Emmanuel’s Dakkada philosophy and helping the youths to be self reliant.
Ndueso was special guest at the graduation ceremony of students of the confectionaries outfit, last weekend, in Uyo.
He lauded the vision and efforts of the progenitor of the academy, in assisting the beneficiaries at discovering theirskills and potentials, harnessing them and contributing to the economic growth of the state.
He recounted how the first lady of the state, Dr Martha Emmanuel, whose training and empowerment scheme saw Helen as a beneficiary and expressed joy that the beneficiary has turned to a benefactor.
Ndueso congratulated the graduating students: Victory Akaninyene Ekpenyong, Olufade Faith Modupe, Emmanuel Sunday Benjamin, Samuel Sunday Benjamin, Abasimfon Clement Udofot, Emediong Clement Udofot, and Peace Uwem Michael on successfully completing the intensive training in confectionery.
The special assistant to the governor and urged the students to utilise the skills they have acquired to create wealth, provide quality services and impact the next generation of pastry chefs, stating that the economy of any society is mainly influenced by its small and medium-scale enterprises.
The governor’s aide, who urged them to support Governor Emmanuel’s completion and succession agenda, pledged to sponsor the three passionate youths to acquire skills atBasselen confectionaries in a bid to encourage young people to develop themselves and contribute positively to the economic growth of Akwa Ibom.
The graduates were presented with certificates by Comrade Esta Nta, special assistant to the governor on Project Monitoring and president of the Female Youths Association.
