Gov Emmanuel Pledges To Host Nigeria Police Games 2022

Gov Udom Emmanuel has pledged to host the 2022 Nigeria Police Force (NPF) games in the state.

  Emmanuel made the promise during a state banquet arranged by his administration in honour of senior police officers after a 2-day retreat at Government House, Uyo, recently.

 The governor stated that his administration has made available state-of- the-art facilities at the three separate ultra-modern stadia to make the games a huge success, appreciating the NPF for the choice of Akwa Ibom in the concluded conference and retreat for senior police officers in the recognition of the available people-oriented projects in the state.

 He reiterated that the police conference and retreat was a great privilege to the people of Akwa Ibom, explaining that the decision of the inspector-general of police (IGP), to take the entire police senior officers to Akwa Ibom was a demonstration of capacity and accessibility of his leadership in radiating light to Nigeria, while also stressing, “The entire Akwa Ibom is indebted to you, for your show of love, support, benevolence and above all for who you are in Nigeria.”

 The IGP, Mr Alkali Baba, commended Emmanuel for his dedication, hard-work and experience to steer the ship of leadership in Akwa Ibom with tangible results, adding that the Nigeria Police was greatly indebted to Akwa Ibom government for the hosting of the conference and retreat.

 Baba hinted that retreat has provided the avenue of tinkering on the modalities of providing security to Nigerians using the Akwa Ibom module to achieve peace in the state, maintaining, “I want other governors to emulate Emmanuel, so that Nigeria can enjoy peace and tranquility. “We, on our part are ready, willing and able to provide the required security to Nigerians so long as we’ve the tools to work.”

 He assured that the request for the hosting the Nigeria Police Games 2022, taking advantage of Akwa Ibom government support would see the light, remarking, “I’ve handed the chairman of police games to Emmanuel, who has handed him to his commissioner for sports. We’ll collaborate and leverage on your kind assistance and benevolence to see when we can host the police games in Akwa Ibom. 

Highpoints of the banquet was the presentation of distinguished leadership service awards by the IGP to Emmanuel in recognition of his sterling leadership qualities and partnership with security agents to promote and sustain peace in Akwa Ibom, while other critical partners of the police force, namely the BUA Group, the Innoson Group, interim administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Effiong Okon Akwa, and Premier Motors also bagged awards.
