EtimEkpo/Ika PDP Stakeholders Root For Uduot Jack

The stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Etim Ekpo/Ika State Constituency have described a former chairman of Etim Ekpo Local Government Area,   Mr  Uduot Jack, as the best material to represent the constituency in the State House of Assembly in 2023. 

Arising from an emergency meeting at Utu Etim Ekpo, the Etim Ekpo Local Government headquarters, the stakeholders dissociated themselves from the purported adoption of Mr Mfon Idung for a second term, stressing that the purported adoption was the handiwork of a certain cabal made up of self-centred people who do not have the interest of the people of the stateconstituency at heart.

Speaking with journalists after the meeting, Elder Sunday Ukpong who spoke on behalf of the stakeholders from Etim Ekpo, stated that the time has come for the people of the state constituency to come out of bondage. 

“We have been under bondage these past years due to a certain cabal who does not have any good thing to offer. But thank God that today, our people have seen the truth and have risen to fight for their rights,” said Elder Ukpong. 

The PDP chieftain hinted that the genuine stakeholders and the entire people of the state constituency are not satisfied with the performance of the incumbent member of the State House of Assembly and wondered why the cabal should claim to have adopted him for a second term. 

“How can you adopt somebody who has not performed well for a second term? We want a younger, more vibrant and dynamic person who has the interest of the people of the constituency at heart and the person is Elder Uduot Jack”, he stated. 

Also speaking, Friday Akpan who spoke on behalf of Ika stakeholders condemned the purported adoption, stressing that the people of the constituency will resist any attempt by what he described as a certain cabal to impose a “wrong choice” on the people. 

Akpan called on the general public to disregard the purported adoption, assuring that the people of the state constituency will choose and queue behind who they want. 

He extolled the exemplary qualities of Uduot Jack, pointing out that while serving as the chairman of Etim Ekpo Local Government Area, he performed creditably. “Elder Uduot Jack is a vibrant, dynamic and God-fearing young man who has the interest of his people at heart. While serving as the chairman of Etim Ekpo, he performed excellently well. He is accessible, humble and a giver to the core. We believe that if given the opportunity, he will take Etim Ekpo/Ika State Constituency to the next level of development”, he stated.
