It was ‘pomp and show’; an exciting moment of reward for service, as the Founder/Progenitor and Board of Trustees Chairman, Ibom People Network, a former Commissioner, Otuekong (Elder) Dr. Okon J. Emah rolled out cash empowerment to twenty-four (24) deserving members of the organization in his country home in Ikôt Ekan, Etinan Local Government yesterday.
Setting the tone of the event, the National President of IPN, Elder Gabriel Akpan reminded members of the organization its tenets, principles and what the organization has always stood for.
According to Elder Akpan, Ibom Peoples’ Network is a Sociopolitical Organization that was founded in 2013 with the sole aim of veering into partnering with the Government to select good leaders as well as empowering its members. In confirming this, various members of the organization expressed their satisfaction over the years, what the leadership of the organization has been doing for them.
“IPN has offered me an opportunity to serve, and I have served with a great reward. My present position as a supervisory counselor in Etinan Local Government was as a result of my service in Ibom People’s Network which our founder, Dr. Okon Emah graciously offered to me,” one of the members added.
Dolling out cash empowerment of hundred thousands (100,000) and fifty thousands (50,000) Naira to 24 members of the organization, the donor, and BOT Chairman charged others whose time will soon come to be deliberate and diligent in discharging their responsibilities at all times. “What has kept me this far is because of what I stand for at all times. I don’t compromise when it comes to saying the truth. This is what people know me for, and I’m unapologetic about it. Those who don’t like the truth will never like me.” Dr. Emah added.
He thanked the National President and members for their steadfastness over the years. Dr. Emah expressed total satisfaction over the developmental strides of Governor Udom Emmanuel, especially, for giving Etinan a dual carriage standard and super High Way.
Okon Emah use the occasion to call for an overwhelming support for all the candidates, beginning from Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as President, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno as Governor, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey as Senator, Hon Paul Ekpo as House of Representative, and Mr. Uduak Ekpo Ufot as their House of Assembly Member in the forthcoming elections.
PDP according to him has a deliberate policy and track record, and we cannot afford to allow such record to be broken. It is only the PDP government that can mend this battered economy, and we can’t allow them or any other party to continue veered in the wrong direction. He called for a motion, which all the PDP candidates were adopted.
The House of Assembly hopeful in Etinan, Mr. Uduak Ekpo Ufot in his goodwill message, once again, reiterated his commitment as a member of the organization to uphold on the doings of the organization when elected into office. The House of Assembly Candidate thanked the progenitor of IPN for his lofty programs he rolled out for the group. He promised to leverage on what was laid on the ground and even improve upon when elected as a lawmaker.
Mr. Ufot expressed joy and satisfaction on the giant developmental stride of his former boss, His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel in infrastructure and industrialization. He joined the BOT Chairman to support for all the PDP candidates in the February election.
The Village head of Etinan, Eteidung J. J. Nsek, thanked the donor for displaying such a humane character of giving back to the people at such a critical time like this. He advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the money they received, and they should not exhibit any form of wastefulness. What you are given may be a token, but you can start a business with it. Make sure the money multiply in your hands. Eteidung advised.
