BENIN CITY

A newly wedded couple on Saturday joined the Labour Party’s rally to drum support for the presidential ambition of church Peter Obi in Edo State.

The couple who just tied the knot were seen in a happy mood  dancing band chanting solidarity songs at the rally in Edo.

Many were astonished on seeing the lovely couple after just leaving the church to drum support for Obi.

Other supporters of Peter Obi and Ahmed Yusuf Datti Presidential Campaign closed major roads in Benin City, Edo State for the Two Million Man March.

The supporters, mostly youths, dressed in Labour Party colour blocked the King’s Square (Ring Road) and the adjoining roads chanting solidarity songs in support of the Labour Party Candidate.

The march caused heavy traffic in the entire state capital, as motorists seek alternative roads to avoid the vehicular traffic.

A renowned human right activist and president of One Love Foundation, Patrick Eholor, said the One Million March is a political revolution, and indication that things need to change in the country.

” I am here for the one Million March that has exceeded one million, it shows that things needs to change in this country, as this country belong to everybody, but some has taken it to be there personal property, I am happy that some young people are now beginning to know that it is time to take back their country.

Buhari is not doing well, children has been out of school for seven months. Unemployment is on the rise, workers can’t get their salaries, there is hunger in the land, we are here to take back our country.”

Also, speaking, the Director of Logistics OBIDATTI Campaign, Edo State, Hon Godwin Erhemoha said the match showed that Nigerians are tired of the two political parties (APC and PDP) and want a change and that Peter Obi mirrors the change Nigerians desire. He said nobody was paid, but rather people made personal donations to see the desire change Nigerians deserves
