CEM Relaunch To Hold November 19

All is now set for the relaunch programme of Children Evangelism Ministry (CEM)

The programme which is tagged Partnership for Total Child Development is billed to hold on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Ibom, IBB Avenue, Uyo by 10.00 am.

According to a release signed by the State Coordinator Evang. Patricia Akhigbe and  the Chairman, Board of Patrons Professor Charles Uko, the relaunch of CEM is coming after 43 years of operation.

The release noted that the Ministry is considering embarking on the relaunch of CEM vision to create awareness on the wholisticneeds of the today’s Child, and to engage stakeholders and volunteers.

It stated that the State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Bishop Dr. Chris Nyong will be the chairman on the occasion while Bishop Dr. Emmanuel Etim, State Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) is expected to deliver an exhortation.

Her Excellency, the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Dr Mrs Martha Emmanuel,  is the Special Guest of Honour, while several distinguished guests and some members of the State Government are expected as Guests of Honour. 

The release  invites all Bishops, General Overseers, Pastors, and church leaders Sunday School teachers, Superintendents, Bible scholars, leaders and students of Campus Fellowships and Youth Fellowships to attend. 

Also invited are: Community leaders, business community, Parents and childcare from across the State and Local Government Areas to this stakeholder interactive meeting which promises to be great.

The release explained, “stakeholders through strategic partnerships will seek to identify and sponsor over 1000 volunteers to work with children in churches, schools and local neighbourhoods across the State”

It called on Young Christian youths willing to join this army of volunteers advocating for proper upbringing of children should attend and be enlisted. 

According to the release, “stakeholders will also enter strategic partnerships to support the establishment and development of Total Child Centres where children will be trained to be balanced mentally, physical, socially and spiritually” 

“CEM, is a Christian voluntary and missionary organisation fully committed to the total development and welfare of the child; reaching children with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in a wholistic manner. 

“It is the first Christian Ministry established in Nigeria, in 1979, the UN international Year of the Child (IYC) with focus on advocacy for evangelism and total development of children. 

“The Ministry has branches in all States and Federal Capital of Nigeria. The Vision Relaunch is a response to the global mandate to reach children for Christ before their teens, preferably between the ages 4 and 14 years (4 – 14 window); during which time lifelong habits, values, beliefs and attitudes are formed.

“The Vision Relaunch is an ongoing project: 2022 and Beyond. It had been held in Port Harcourt, Lagos, Benin City, Umuahia, Abuja and now in Uyo,Akwa Ibom State” the release reads.

The Mission of CEM according to the release, is to correct the neglect of children in evangelistic efforts and to impact the life of Christ to children for the continuity of the church and a virile society, while its Motto is: train up a child now as a solid foundation for a better tomorrow.
