The Nigerian Ambassador to Israel has praised Akwa Ibom indigenes resident in Israel for being good representatives of their home state and Nigeria at large.
Ambassador Nart Kolo also thanked the Cross River indigenes for their good conduct in the holy land.
The Ambassador, who was represented by minister 1, Mrs. Agatha Afoekelu, at the just concluded 2022 Akwa-Cross General Assembly (AGA) in Israel could not hide his feeling when he heard of the achievements of the community, one of which is the donation of over 10,000 exercise books to Akwa Ibom State Government, which was received by the then commissioner for education, Professor Nse Essien in 2019.

The Diplomat thanked Akwa Ibom indigenes in Israel for always remembering people back home and charged them to do more.
In the same vein, the chairman of the 2022 Akwa-Cross General Assembly, Mr. Collin Nabson, used the medium to encouraged indigenes of the two states to continue in assisting their people back home in Nigeria, noting that their efforts are being appreciated even though they are not at home to see, adding that,from experience, each time a donation is made to the people there is always a happy moment.
The president of Akwa Ibom community in Israel, Mr. Victor Bassey, thanked the governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, for the sustainability of peace, which has brought developments to the state in diverse ways, one of them is the Ibom Air, which ranksthe best in the aviation subsector of the Nigerian economy, as well as the 10-lane ring road in Uyo.

Bassey, who doubles as the overseer of CRS community,however, appealed to Akwa Ibom government to make provisions for delegates to attend the next edition of Akwa-Cross General Assembly in Israel.
Earlier in his opening speech, the patron of Akwa-Cross, Elder Parick Udo, told the audience that indigenes of the two states came together in unity 25 years ago, and what has kept the community going is love laid down by the founding fathers which, according to him, is one of the foundations upon the association stands.

High point of the occasion was a paper presentation on the theme: “Agricultural Development An Impetus For Food Sufficiency”, by an Akwa Ibom son, Mr. Idongesit Godwin, who studied and is currently working in Israel. The event was coordinated by the secretary of Akwa Ibom community in Israel, Mr. James Ekanem.
