CALABAR
Governor Ben Ayade has advocated for youth inclusiveness at all levels in governance.
The governor made the charge in Calabar during a Youth Summit organised by APC youths in the state during the weekend.
Ayade pointed out that the millage made by his administration in the various sectors of the state’s economy, were achieved through his engagement of a chunk of the youths in the governance of the state.
He maintained that his belief in the capacity of young people was unwavering and promised to sustain the expansionist policy in the governance structure of the state to accommodate more youths.
While challenging the youths to always put their minds above their problem, the governor added that it is by so doing that their body will follow, explaining that Nigeria has made much progress “but it’s not noticeable because young people have not been brought into governance.”
He added that his believe in the youths is unshaken as he is going to create an expansionist programme to accommodate more youths including social welfare programme charging them to always think big and stay on the part of morality.
Earlier in a remark, state chairman of the APC, Mr Alphonsus Eba, said youths in the state were more favourably disposed to assume wider latitude in government, in view of the experience gained under the Ayade led Administration in the state.
In his welcome remarks, the chairman of the Local Organising Committee of the Summit, Oden Ewa, described the event as the first of its kind in the state.
Ewa added that it was organised to create a platform to express appreciation to the governor for the reposed in young people, having included over 7,000 youths in his administration.
