A’Ibom Speaker Adopts Mkpo Amaa Change Initiative Into Uruan Political Train

The speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Elder Aniekan Bassey, has adopted Mkpo Amaa Change, a socio-political group in Akwa Ibom State into the political train in Uruan Local Government Area.

Bassey made this declaration on Monday at  the inauguration of Uruan chapter and wards executives of Mkpo Amaa Change Initiative at Idu, the headquarters of Uruan Local GovernmentArea. 

The speaker who was the special guest of honour at the event and represented by his director of Protocol, Mr Desmond Etim, expressed happiness with the group for her ideology in shaping the youths’ mentality not only on politics, but on business and life  generally

He commended the international president of the group who is also the special assistant to the governor on social re-orientation, Mr Ekpeno Gold with his executive on the initiative and in detailed  selection of men and women with proven integrity to pilot the Uruan chapter of the movement.

The lawmaker also commended the leadership of the group forexpanding the initiative to local government units where real politics begins.

The Assembly helmsman while also congratulating the newly inaugurated executive in Uruan, charged them to make use of the opportunity in developing themselves and creating more synergy with the people at their different wards and communities so as to draw more support for Governor Udom Emmanuel Completion and Succession plan in 2023.

Earlier in his address, the international president of MkpoAmaa Change, Mr Ekpeno Gold, thanked the speaker for making out time to attend the event.

He commended his efforts and contributions towards the sustainability of peace and tranquility both in the State House of Assembly, Uruan and in the state generally.

He maintained that Rt Hon Aniekan Bassey is about the very best Speaker Akwa Ibom State has  ever had. 

Gold also charged the people of Uruan to key into Governor Emmanuel’s succession plan to sustain the peace being enjoyed in the state today.

“We have gone through twenty eight local government without any security personnel which is a clear evidence to the fact that there’s absolute peace in the state. 

“Mkpó Amaa Change sees the need to sustain this peace which Gov. Udom Emmanuel has brought by supporting his succession plan as 2023 beckons,” he stated. 

Also speaking, the chairman of Uruan Local Government Council, Mr Iniobong Ekpeyong, represented by his vice, MrsUduak Enang, expressed happiness at the slogan of the group “Udom must land well,” saying the vision of the group is very clear and worthy of acceptance  by everybody in the state. 

The council chairman welcomed the group to the local government and assured them of support at any given time. 

The inauguration saw Pastor Emmanuel Daniel emerge as chapter coordinator alongside other executive members and 13ward co-ordinators.
