Ahead of the 2023 general elections in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the party   is well positioned to record yet another season of electoral conquest at all categories of elections that the party will be fielding candidates for.

The state chairman of the party, Elder Aniekan Akpan, who made the declaration while addressing national and state assembly candidates and stakeholders of the party at the event of issuance of certificates of return, maintained that with the strategic actions that the party in the state has drawn out, the party is firmly rooted on a path to victory, describing the event as a validation of the smooth conduct of the party primaries.

According to the PDP boss, “this presentation ceremony is first and foremost victory for our party for successfully conducting peaceful, free and smooth party primaries to elect our party’s standard bearers.

“I want to emphasize that this event is the beginning of the journey to electoral victory in the 2023 polls.

“We are another step closer to victory. We have won before and we will win again by the grace of God and by the support of the people.”

On his part, the PDP gubernatorial candidate in the state, Pastor Umo Eno, who congratulated the candidates on their emergence, noted that the receipt of certificates of return marked a new stage in progress on the road to electoral victory which he expressed strong optimism about.

“We are just boarding a flight now; we will certainly land safely and victoriously. Our destination is 2023 and I assure you that our captain is God and for that reason, we will not crash-land.”

“I encourage all Akwa Ibomites to join this flight that the engine is steaming and is about to take off. Ours is a victory flight that will guarantee the maintenance of the peace we are enjoying, opportunities for our teeming youths and general development for all”, he said.

We will continue to consult and engage with our people for the purpose of moving in one direction and in the end, victory is sure”, Enoidem said.
