The Peoples Democratic Party candidate for Esit Eket/Eket/Ibeno/Onna Federal Constituency, Mr Okpolupm Etteh, has received his Certificate of Return ahead of the forthcoming general elections to represent the federal constituency in the House of Representatives.
The Presentation was made by the state chairman of the PDP, Elder Aniekan Akpan, at the PDP State Secretariat, Attan Offot, Uyo.
Etteh who is the immediate-past commissioner for special duties, reassured of his commitment to robust legislative engagement, promising to prioritize empowerment, community and human capital development if given the mandate to serve the people at the National Assembly.
On the prospects of the party winning the forthcoming elections, Etteh said PDP is the only organized political party with formidable structure in the state with the manifesto to address the needs of the people.
He also appreciated the leadership and membership of the PDP in the state for entrusting him with the party’s ticket.
In his address, the state chairman congratulated all candidates of the party, charging them to remain resilient and committed to ensuring the party’s philosophy as focus on development and robust legislative engagement supersedes personal interest.
Elder Akpan expressed satisfaction to the party for conducting very free, fair, peaceful and transparent primaries which saw to the victory of all PDP candidates.
“This is the beginning to the journey of our electoral victory. Do not rest, remain resolute because we shall repeat the victory during the general elections by winning the gubernatorial, senatorial and State House of Assembly seats to sustain the enormous developments recorded by our party under the leadership of Governor Udom Emmanuel”.
The gubernatorial candidate of the party in the state, Pastor Umo Eno, thanked Akwa Ibom people for keeping faith with the PDP, saying the party is prepared and determined to sustain on the legacies established by incumbent governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel.
The presentation was witnessed by the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, party chieftains, stakeholders and supporters.
