To concretize the readiness of the former NLC president for the Edo North Senatorial seat, Comrade Adams Oshiomole’skinsmen, Uzairue in Etsako West Council Area, recently met and endorsed him as their preferred candidate for Senate.
Comrade Oshiomoles interest in the race for the Senate may likely pitch him against the incumbent, Senator Francis Alimikhena, who is reportedly working hard to secure a third term bid.
In solidarity, Oshiomole’s kinsmen, acting under what they termed Uzairue APC have promoted their son to throw his hat into the race for Senate.
Led by Alhaji Sadiku Momoh, the group, which comprises of APC ward chairmen, leaders and stakeholders in Uzairuerecently met in Ikhabigbo, Etsako West Council Area, where they endorsed the senatorial ambition of the former Edo State governor and also pledged to work for its actualization.
The motion for the group to endorse the senatorial ambition of Comrade Oshiomole was raised by the duo of Adams Muminu, who is the chairman of chairmen of all APC Wards in Uzairue, Etsako West and Dr Bruno Oshionebu, a former transition committee chairman of Etsako West.
They both eulogised the former APC national chairman, saying his vast political experience, clout and antecedents is what Edo North requires at a time like this to raise its profile as well as deliver democracy dividends to the people.
In his remark, the leader of the group, Alhaji Momoh, aka SMO, thanked the stakeholders who had converged to determine the political fate of the district for reposing absolute confidence in the former comrade governor, maintaining the project is a worthy one .
Also, Comrade Paschal Ogie, APC stalwart in ward 12, EtsakoWest, poured encomiums on the comrade governor, saying his presence in the Senate will not only redefine Edo North in particular but also Edo State in general.
He recalled with nostalgia the role the comrade governor played in putting Edo North District on national political map, adding, he deserves to be rewarded for restore glory and pride to the district.
