The gubernatorial ambition of Pastor Umo Eno received a boost in six Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State at the weekend as Ibom Consolidation Project (ICP) inaugurated the Ikono, Ini Obot Akara, Ikot Ekpene, Essien Udim and Ika Local Government Area Chapters of the organization, where Eno was described as the “State peace mandate and integrity capital”.
At the state-wide inauguration and delegates sensitization tour, the international president of the organization and former chairman of Ikot Abasi Local Government Council, Barr Uwem Ekanem, said the organization aims at consolidating on the present achievements of Governor Udom Emmanuel for sustainable development so that the future of Akwa Ibom people may be assured.
He said, “We must bury imaginary boundaries because what we need in Akwa Ibom State today is a man that has good character and content, who will consolidate on Gov Udom Emmanuel’s peace mantra and industrialization policy for sustainable development in the state.
“Pastor Umo Eno is a colossus in business, a successful entrepreneur who is well known in growing different lines of business empires and industries, Czar in politics and human capacity building; a man who has demonstrated the new definition of what aspiration to such exalted office should be, and so should be given opportunity to build the state, especially in the area of security and economy with a common objective to consolidate on the gains of Gov Udom Emmanuel’s impact and integrate our state among comity of states in the country as well as see that the future of our people is assured.
“A man that can be defined in so many ways as a guru, who has laid the standard for development with what he did in his personal companies that has made himself an example for others. We need somebody who will say follow me and you won’t have a modicum of doubt to follow him,” Ekanem said.
In their separate opinions, the chairmen of respective local government council visited and frontline leaders of the organization at the state and their respective local government Areas, called on the statutory delegates and the would be adhoc delegates to look up to Pastor Umo Eno and to nominate him as the party flag bearer come April, 2022.
At Ini Local Government Area, Hon. Emmanuel Ebe admonished the adhoc and future statutory delegates to desist from the act of taking fetish oaths of allegiance from desperate governorship aspirants, who do not have the interest of the people at heart but would destroy their future.
Ebe said with Governor Udom Emmanuel and Pastor Umo Eno the future of Akwa Ibom people will be assured.
He called on Ini people, who mistakenly had been administered with the fetish oath to come out for cleaning and deliverance so that they can move in one accord to deliver the right aspirant, who is Pastor Umo Eno, as the party standard bearer.
Similarly, at Ikono Local Government Area, Senator Aloysius Etok, assured ICP that Ikono delegates will deliver Pastor Umo Eno as the party flagbearer owing to hisintimidating credentials and capacity to deliver the state.
He used the opportunity to intimate the people on the functions of the Maintain Peace Movement (MPM) and that of the Ibom Consolidation Project (IPC) as one organization with almost similar objective of consolidating on Governor Emmanuel’s legacies and the victory of Pastor Umo Eno.
Others present during the tour were a former National Assembly member for Ikot Ekpene Federal Constituency, Hon. Saviour Udo, Professor Maria Ikrok, Hon. Etido Ibekwe, Hon. Isong Isang, Hon. Ernest Ukpong, Dr Udoma Ekarikaand a host of others.
