The commissioner for lands and water resources has paid a visit to the ongoing Ewet Primary School project as well as the Emily Haven Estate at Ifa Ikot Okpon.

At Ewet Primary School site, Pastor Umo Eno, accompanied by the director, Town and Country Planning (TPL), coveringthe duty of the permanent secretary TPL, Aniekan Akpan and others, walked round the different classroom blocks and the administrative office to ascertain progress of work.

Eno, who is the leading aspirant for the 2023 governorship election in Akwa Ibom, expressed satisfaction at the pace and quality of work, saying the primary school would be delivered soonest.

Worthy of note is the fact that the primary school would be the first in the community as children in the area were transporting to distant communities to have primary education.

Expressing delight at the development, the youth president of Ewet Offot, Mr Joseph  Nyong, commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for remembering the community and for the speedy construction of the project.

Joseph, in company of other youths in the area noted that the Andrew ready to protect the property, which he described as their baby, adding that their children would be relocated from the distant schools which they were attending as soon as the project was completed.

Besides serving the community, the primary school, when completed, will also serve as a feeder to Ewet Technical College.

The commissioner also took out time to visit the Emily Haven Estate to have a firsthand information on the creation of roads, drainages and general clearing work.

The inspection exercise, which stretched into late evening, saw the commissioner painstakingly walking round the site and enquiring for essential details.

The Emily Haven Estate is one of the success stories of the Land Allocation, Verification and Recovery Committee, which was inaugurated by Eno in his early days as commissioner for lands and water resources.

The Estate, which is a medium density estate created to complement the Dakkada Luxury Estate, would accommodate different Federal government agencies and parastatals including EFCC, Police, as well as senior government officials both state and federal.
