Ukanafun Youths Eulogize Gov Emmanuel For Restoring Peace To The Area

Youths under the auspices of Village Youth Presidents of Ukanafun have applauded Governor Udom Emmanuel for the peace they are enjoying in the area, and for the numerous projects scattered across the local government area.

 They also thanked the governor for the appointment of their illustrious sons and daughters into various arms of government while reaffirming their support to the completion agenda and the succession plan of the governor. 

 The youth stated these in a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting of the Forum of Village Youth Presidents of Ukanafun which was held on Friday June 3, 2022, at Central School, Ikot Akpan Nkuk, Ukanafun Local Government Area. 

 The forum also condemned in strong terms the abuse of Facebook and social media platforms for blackmail, character assassination and defamation, adding that such activities were a threat to life on the leaders and constituted authorities, while urging elements of destruction to desist from such acts.

 The statement reads in part: “Commendation of His Excellency,Gov Udom Emmanuel, for the peace being enjoyed in Ukanafun today, the numerous construction projects, appointment of our illustrious sons and daughters into various arms of government and also to reaffirm our support to the completion agenda and succession plan of his administration. 

 “We condemn in absolute terms the abuse of Facebook and other social media platforms for blackmail, character assassination, mudslinging and defamation and threat to life on our leaders and constituted authorities.”

 The leader of the forum, Mr Iboro Idungafa, who spoke with our reporter shortly after the meeting said they have passed a vote of confidence on Governor Emmanuel for his fatherly role in the politics of Ukanafun, adding that the governor has brought transparency to play in his administration. 

 Mr Idungafa also used the opportunity to congratulate the gubernatorial flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Pastor Umo Eno, for his victory at the just-concluded PDP primaries in the state while assuring him of their 100 percent support during the forthcoming general elections.
