Political stakeholders and statutory delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party in Urueffong Oruko Local government area have adopted Pastor Umo Bassey Eno as their consensus candidate for the fast approaching 2023 governorship election in the state.
This was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of a well organized meeting by the state commissioner for transport who is the political leader of the area.
The meeting which was attended by all the statutory delegates and political stakeholders from the area, issued a communiqué signed by top political stakeholders which include Chief Uno Etim Uno, state commissioner for transport and MPM coordinator, Mr Asuquo Archibong, Mr Precious Selong, Chief Esio O. Udoh, Mr Oyosoro Okon, Dr Mary K.Bassey, Hon. Ekpo E. Edeke, Chief Mrs Janet Amba and Prince Umana Efombruh. Others are; Prof. Peter Esuh, Mr Okon Osung,, MrOkon Bassey, Elder Nkereuwem E. Okpo, Prince Victor Uweh, Mrs Arit S. Ambit, Mr Charles Emene, Mr Etim O. Nkereuwem, Mr Philomena Jonathan, Mr Senor l. Okpoyo, Mr Peter Abang and Ulap Christopher Ante for an on behalf of all political stakeholders.
According to the communiqué, the meeting was organized to assemble political stakeholders and statutory delegates to formally adopt the governor’s preferred successor as their consensus candidate.
It said the adoption of Umo Eno by Governor Udom Emmanuel was not in error but in line with God’s purposes concerning the state and 2023 elections.
It continued that the adoption of Umo Eno was not out of place given starling qualities and intellectual capability of preferred aspirant at consolidating on the gains and existing legacies of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
It further stated that the adoption of Umo Eno was predicated on the brilliant tract records and leadership potentials of the preferred successor.
The communiqué reads,” Akwa lbom State has quality men and women, just like when Israel came to being in 1948, every Jews at home and abroad desired a leader with the fear of God, who will sustain the peace as witnessed in Akwa lbom State, at that time, the only globally celebrated Jew was the legendary nuclear physicist, Albert Einstein.
Albert Einstein was unveiled as the people’s popular choice of the Jew; this is where Pastor Umo Bassey Eno comes in as the people’s choice for the state.”
The people maintained that His Excellency the governor understands the dynamism of the game and pick Umo Eno as the anointed successor that will surely give the people and the state what they deserve.
The communiqué while describing Pastor Umo Eno as a personality with amiable character, so proven, tested, humble, honest, articulate, selfless, trusted gentle man to the core, very dependable, and reliable whose linkage with incumbent have shaped him for the top job, also described Umo Eno as a man of substance, not glamorous but polished, versatile and indeed a symbol of hope.
It also said that Umo Eno having been unveiled as a worthy successor of Governor Udom Emmanuel, has lived up to the saying by a great philosopher Albert Schweitzer that” There is no higher religion than human service, to work for the common good will be his greatest creed”,; and called on Akwa lbom people to love Umo Eno as his exposure, education contacts and wealth of experience having being an outstanding successful businesses mogul who has employed men, will deploy his business ideology to ensure effective service delivery.
The stakeholders had before a motion moved by Pastor Peter Edet Abang for the adoption of Pastor Umo Bassey Eno as their consensus aspirant, thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for allowing God to prevail in his succession process before formally presenting Umo Eno for God’s heavenly blessings.
