The remains of a nonagenarian, late Obong Ene Eyo Akpan, the Obong Uso 1 of Afaha Atai Ibesikpo, will be laid to rest this week Saturday, April 20, 2024 at his residence in Afaha Atai Ibesikpo in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area.
Until his transition to glory at the age of 91, he was an Elder and committed member of the Lutheran Church of Nigeria, Afaha Atai Ibesikpo.
A release signed by his son and personal assistant to the head of Civil Service, Mr Mumini Eyo, indicated that the funeral service will be conducted by The Lutheran Church of Nigeria, Afaha Atai Congregation, at Luther Hall of the Lutheran Church of Nigeria Headquarters, Obot Idim Ibesikpo, after service of songs on Friday, April 19, 2024 at the Lutheran Church of Nigeria, Afaha Atai Ibesikpo.
The release stated that the deceased, who rested in the Lord after 91 years of sojourn on planet earth, translated to glory, peacefully with dignity and total faith in Christ, on January 29, 2024.
It described the deceased as a great mentor, a negotiator of note, “the voice of the nobody”, the great adviser, and a great steward, noting that the late Elder Ene Eyo Akpan was a symbol of peace, justice, and a pillar of hope to the church, community and humanity at large.
The release invites friends, associates, colleagues and well wishes to the funeral, to pay their last respect to an exceptional individual and nonagenarian.
