….promise to collapse all their structure to the victory of PDP
It was a moment of celebration as aspirants who contested for the House of Assembly ticket with Sunday Johnny resolved to come together as a PDP family to work for the success of the party in the forthcoming elections.
Declaring the meeting open, the Campaign DG and the PDP Chapter Chairman in ONNA, Prince Godwin Ben and Barr. Ubong Adiakpan respectively, expressed their gratitude to God and the aspirants for remaining steadfast and resolute in the party despite not picking the ticket.
The convener and the PDP House of Assembly Candidate, Mr. Sunday Johnny thanked his fellow contenders, who contested for the party ticket with him, for heeding to his call for reconciliation. Johnny pledged to run an all-inclusive government in ONNA by accommodating everyone when elected into office in February next year election. He, however, appealed to all the aspirants to kindly bury their differences while resolving to work for the success of the party.
“I know that all the eleven aspirants who vie for the ticket in ONNA genuinely love ONNA and all of you had a lovely vision to serve and uplift ONNA to a greater height but unfortunately, the ticket was for one person and the grace of God has found me for that purpose, not because I was better than anyone of you seated here but the Grace and the party found me; therefore, I am honestly and humbly appealing to every one of you to please bury every differences and collapse your structure into our campaign organization, so we can build a formidable front and win massively in next year’s general elections.” — Sunday Johnny said.
Reacting, one of the aspirants, Mr. Essien Etuk (Malcolm), expressed his sincere commitment to the course but said that the new pacts were long overdue as he has expected this meeting to have come more than a month ago. He appealed to the convener and party to do what is necessary by relating their message back to the Governor so that all the aspirants can happily identify with the course, while working for his emergence as Member representing ONNA State Constituency in 2023.
Also speaking, Mr. Sunday Ituen (the Tactical Commander) said it will be a great deserves for anyone to contemplate turning his back or leaving the the party, simply because it didn’t favour him or her. As a party man, his duty is to abide by the decision of the party, knowing too well that what makes a party stronger is when members are committed to the course. Mr Ituen, however, appealed to the leadership of the party and the House of Assembly hopeful to do everything within his power to improve the present political status of Nung Ndem. He also makes a case for the Leader of the Legislature while also promising to lead the entire Nung Ndem to win massively for PDP in 2023.
