The Akwa Ibom State Chapter of a foremost
Pan-African women organisation, the African Women in Leadership Organisation (AWLO), has thrown its weight behind the choice of Pastor Umo Eno as the preferred governorship candidate in the 2023 Gover-
norship race in Akwa Ibom. This resolve by the organisation was announced over the weekend, by the presi- dent and founder of AWLO, Dr Elisha Attai.
Speaking with The Pioneer, Attai expressed the delight of the organisation to see Pastor Umo Eno throw his hat into the ring for the 2023 gubernatorial race.
According to him, Akwa Ibom, under Umo Eno, is sure set to attain another level of unprecedented greatness in continuation of the tempo al- ready set by Governor Udom Emmanuel.
He explained that the posi- tion of his organization regard- ing the candidacy of Umo Eno is based on his (Umo Eno’s) pedigree.
In his words: “Umo Eno is one man we have seen serv- ing the people in the past 18 years in a personal capacity in the course of his business and pastoral work. “Pastor Umo Eno is acces- sible and humble. He is a man with the fear of God and char- acter of a servant leader. He believes politics is a call to serve humanity.
“He believes in doctrines and understands that political party ideologies consolidates party supremacy.” He believes in gender par- ity and a gender balanced so- ciety. Over 70 percent of staff in his company and almost 95 per cent managerial positions in his Royalty Group of com- panies are women.
“Umo Eno has a verifiable track record of building some- thing from nothing.
“Before Akwa Ibomites and Nigeria is a new era of good governance and a new phase of democratic gover- nance with the Peoples Demo- cratic Party from 2023 and be- yond,” Attai concluded.
AWLO is the biggest Pan- African Women organization in Africa, with 28 chapters in 15 countries, including the US, UK and Canada.
