A member of the Peoples Democratic Party Reconciliation Committee, Dr Ekaette Ebong Okon, has assured all the aggrieved members of the party of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s resolve to meaningfully pacify them in various capacities.
Okon stated this in Uyo during a chat with newsmen in the state shortly after the inauguration of the committee.
While assuring the PDP hierarchy in the state on her readiness to deploy all necessary means and channels to galvanize aggrieved members of the party into one political direction, advised all aggrieved members to honour invitations of the committee as well as presenting their points, reasons causes of annoyance to enable the committee to treat them appropriately.
She said as a person who has been in politics and in leadership positions, that she was well versed with the knowledge of the state politics and how to go about issues capable creating a divide, disharmony and disunity within the system.
Dr Ekaette Okon, who is the women deputy director of Maintain Peace Movement, Uyo Senatorial District, said the reconciliation committee was necessary to resolve matters arising from the just concluded delegates and party primaries in other to accommodate aggrieved members at one position or the other.
Okon, who is the Akwa lbom State Secondary Education Board chairman, said by the position of her membership in the committee, that she has the mandate to work towards the victory of the party by ensuring that the aggrieved members are properly and reasonably engaged in a meaning platform by way of pacifying them as promised by Governor Udom Emmanuel.
She said there was need for Akwa lbom people to maintain their support to the Peoples Democratic Party in the state as the only peaceful party that always helps and bring democratic dividend to the people even to the interior.
The Maintain Peace Movement Uyo Senatorial District deputy director, a two term member of Akwa lbom State House of Assembly, who represented the good people of Itu state constituency, called on all aggrieved members to embrace the reconciliation committee team, inaugurated by the governor based for their interest in other to resolve matters affecting them for accommodative and unified politicking.
She said with unified politicking, the party will speak in one voice, pursue a common goal and have a common front for the victory of the party in the fast approaching general elections.
She thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for always demonstrating sensitivity on the plight of the party members, describing such as a true demonstration of fatherly roll in the midst of children.
