MOI&S Wins NIPR Excellence Award In Human Capacity Development

The Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Information and Strategy (MOI&S) has won the 2022 Award of Excellence in Human Capacity Development by government agency category, awarded by the state chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR. 

 The presentation took place, Friday, November 4, 2022 during the 2022 NIPR Annual General Meeting/8th Chief O. W. UdohMemorial Lecture and Dinner/Award night, which took place at Breakforth Hotel, Uyo.

 Responding after receiving the award on behalf of the Ministry, the permanent secretary, Akparawa James Edet, appreciated the institute for the recognition. 

 Edet dedicated the award to staff for their contributions towards rebranding the Ministry, and also to the state governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, for prioritizing human capacity development in his Completion Agenda. 

 In a related development, the commissioner for information and strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong, has described the 8th Chief O. W. Udoh Memorial Lecture tagged: “Strategic Communication and Credible 2023 Electioneering in Nigeria” as timely, especially as preparations have reached top level for the 2023 general elections. 

 Ememobong, who commended the leadership of the state chapter of NIPR for putting together the event, charged them to sustain the current spirit of teamwork, excellence and diligence. 

 The memorial lecture was presented by Mr Festus Okoye, a lawyer, and commissioner in charge of Information and Voter Education of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC).

 Other individuals, organisations, institutions, brands, products, public and corporate officers, as well as agencies of government, were also recognised for their outstanding performance and innovations within the year.

The ceremony was attended by directors in the Ministry of Information and Strategy, government functionaries and brand representatives.
