ITU

The member representing Itu State Constituency, Mr Kufreabasi Edidem, has sued for peaceful electioneering in 2023 as well as emergence of true Christians with the fear of God in political offices.

The lawmaker made the position last Monday at Itu Local Government Secretariat during the rededication of Itu land to God and thanksgiving service organized by the council chairman Mr Etetim Onuk.

He said the rededication of the land as well as praying for the forgiveness of sins their forefathers committed in killing of the twins and ungodly treatment on the missionary was the first and the best event that ever happened in the local government.

Mr Edidem who said it was time for the real believers of the gospel and Christians with God- fearing disposition to occupy political offices from Itu Local Government, urged the people to pray for a peaceful and safe-habitable environment for Itu and its residents.

He specifically urged the people to pray that the blood of Jesus Christ speak atonement for the sins committed by their forefathers over the ungodly practices and embarrassment of missionaries and innocent twins.

The lawmaker while emphasizing on true Christians in politics that would be able to redeem the land and the people, as the Akwa Ibom governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has shown today, sued for a peaceful campaign from all the political parties as well as peaceful elections  in the upcoming 2023 general elections in the state, against bloodshed.

He said the local government was meant to be a rallying point with natural endowments but their forefathers didn’t understand or have the picture of what future holds for the local government, hence the ugly and ungodly practices and treatment against the missionary.

Edidem who emphasized that the rededication and thanksgiving was necessary to pray for forgiveness as well as celebrating thegood roles of the missionary in introducing the gospel to Nigeria which he said Akwa lbom people and Nigerians should build on such foundation, thanked the Itu Council chairman for acknowledging such fact by organizing the rededication and thanksgiving service while promising his support to the administration of Mr Etetim Onuk anytime need arises.
