Vulnerable Akwa Ibom persons, specifically children and mothers are to benefit from the partnership between the Ministry of Information and Strategy and Hacey Health Initiative.
To this end, the Ministry of Information and Strategy has pledged its readiness to give Hacey Health Initiative the needed support in publicising its products and activities to the targeted audience for an upward uptake of the facilities at the disposal of the organisation.
The commissioner for information and strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong, made this known, recently, during a courtesy call on him by members of the Hacey Health Initiative.
Ememobong, represented by the director of information and director covering the duties of the office of the permanent secretary, Akparawa James Edet, said with the vulnerable members of the public as their target, their cause was very encouraging, deserving of support.
He lauded the Hacey Initiative for its fantastic mission in the health sector of the state, which he said, keys into the free healthcare policy of government for children between the age bracket of 0-5years, pregnant women and the aged.
The information helmsman appreciated the organisation for caring for the vulnerable ones in the society and extended the goodwill of the ministry to members in their onerous task of touching the lives of the vulnerable Akwa Ibomites.
While assuring them of the ministry’s readiness to publicise their activities through its radio and television programmes, Ememobong said the various other media platforms of the Ministry will also be employed in disseminating the needed information for a wider reach by the general public.
The coordinator of Hacey Health Initiative, Mr. Ubon James,intimated that the essence of the visit was to inform the commissioner about Hacey and its activities in Akwa Ibom.
James said Hacey Health Initiative is a Non-government organisation (NGO), which has been in existence for about 14 years with so much record of achievements but with less publicity.
He disclosed that the NGO has also carried out numerous humanitarian services outside Akwa Ibom and solicited the ministry, as the engine room of information in the state, to spread the news of the existence and activities of Hacey Health Initiative.
The coordinator listed the activities and programmes of the initiative to include support to the vulnerable ones in the society, through the distribution of kits to pregnant women.
Highlights of the courtesy call was the presentation of publications of the Ministry and the 2022 State Calendar to Hacey Health Initiative through its coordinator by the information commissioner, Comrade Ini Ememobong, as well as the presentation of kits and handbills of Hacey Health Initiative to the ministry.
