As the aspiration of Pastor Umo Eno continues to receive acceptability and endorsements across different zones in the state, Association of Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGON), have adopted pastor Umo Eno as their sole candidate for the Governorship election in 2023.

The endorsement was a unanimous decision by the Council helmsman of the 31 LGAs following a motion moved by the Chairman of Uyo, Dr Uwemedimo Udo and seconded by the Chairman of Ini LGA, Rt Hon Israel Idaisin during a consultation by the campaign team of Pastor Umo Eno.
Speaking during the event, the Akwa Ibom State Chairman of ALGON and Chairman of Esit Eket LGA, Rt Hon. Iniobong Robson who called for the motion for adoption said the body had earlier resolved not to “interface” with any other aspirant as Umo Eno remained their only choice.

He stated that Pastor Umo Eno is a man endowed by God with both physical and spiritual abilities to transform Akwa Ibom adding that “we cannot afford to allow this opportunity to pass us by in Akwa Ibom”
The ALGON boss insisted that they will not compromise on their stance and commitment to the success of Pastor Umo Eno’s ambition to emerge the next governor of the state.

He prayed God to grant the aspirant the heart to condone all the insult and embarrassment he will receive in the course of his campaign to serve the state but should count it as joy.
While soliciting the support of his colleagues for the aspiration of Pastor Umo Eno, the Chairman of Nsit Ubium, the Local Government of the Governorship hopeful, Arc. Iniobong Orok who described the aspirant as a mentor, said he has been the pillar of support to his administration.

He added that the PDP hopeful will not disappoint Akwa Ibom State when he emerges as governor.
Speaking for Chairmen of Uyo Senatorial District, the Chairman of Nsit Ibom LGA, Rt Hon. Eric Akpan said the Chairmen were fully in support of the aspiration and promised to ensure the success of Pastor Umo Eno in 2023.

He stressed that Pastor Umo Eno is a symbol of loyalty and humility who has been favoured by God.
Speaking for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Rt Hon. Unyime Etim said the zone is the votes basket of the state and assured the team that the LG Chairmen from the zone will deliver as usual in 2023.
In his part, the Chairman of Oron Hon. Effiong Ubokulo who spoke for the Local Government Chairmen from Eket Senatorial District, who described the aspirant as a beautiful bride said they will mobilize grassroots to ensure victory for Pastor Umo Eno

Earlier, the frontline aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, Pastor Umo Eno while soliciting the support and endorsement of the Local Government Chairmen commended them for maintaining peace in their domains.
He described himself as a grassroots person who has lived and grew up in the rural areas and understands the plight of the people in the grassroots.
The Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources stated that if elected as Governor in Akwa Ibom he will work with the LG Chairmen to transform the state and make life better for the people in the grassroots.

“It is an insult for one to think of the son of a policeman will not go to school.
“I struggled through school after the death of my father. When I returned home, I attended St Francis Secondary School in Eket.
“I’m a product of grace and mercy of God. I want to tell all of us that if I can make it struggling anybody can make it.
“I thank God who has brought me from a nobody to somebody through Governor Udom Emmanuel. Let no man look down on you,” Pastor Umo Eno explained.

He assured that his administration will carry out need assessment of all the LGAs to know the unique needs while promising to bring back the enterprising spirit back to Akwa Ibom and also revamp agriculture
The Director General of Umo Eno Campaigns Organization, Amb. Assam Assam who poured encomiums on the leadership of ALGON commended the Chairmen for delivering dividends of democracy in the grassroots.

The DG urged them to join the moving train and endorse the aspiration of Pastor Umo Eno as the next governor of the state for the continuous prosperity of Akwa Ibom State.
On his part, the National Coordinator of Maintain Peace Movement (MPM), Barr Emmanuel Enoidem said the endorsement of pastor Umo Eno as the preferred candidate by Governor Udom Emmanuel is in line with the aspiration and yearnings of MPM for a Governor that has the capacity to sustain the peace in the state.

He noted that the aspiration of Pastor Umo Eno has received acceptability across the different strata of the state the latest being the recent adoption of the aspirant by the 26 members of the State House of Assembly and charged them to follow suit and endorse Pastor Umo Eno for continuity.
Speaking, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaicy Affairs, Hon. Frank Archibong assured Pastor Umo Eno of the capacity of the LG Chairmen to mobilize grassroots support for Pastor Umo Eno and described members of ALGON as strong allies to the development of Akwa Ibom State.
