The executive and members of Government Secondary School, Afaha-Eket, Alumni Association have expressed great excitement over the appointment of one of their own, Elder Isaiah Ntekim, FCA, FCTI, as the state auditor-general.
The Association, in a message signed by the Association’s President, Mr Aniekan Willie, said, “By this appointment, you have been moved to the top of your profession, where your Green Pen carries more weight and a touch of respect in and out of government circles.
“We lack appropriate words to express our deep joy over this elevation; because first of all, you are one of us, a proud alumnus of the great Government Secondary School, Afaha Eket. This is therefore a collective promotion for us.
“We believe that your steady rise to the top of your competitive and challenging career is a product of years of training and diligent performance of your duties. Just as the good book says, a man that is diligent or skilful in his business will only stand in honour before kings and not obscure people. Your appointment has fulfilled that scripture.
“We have no doubt that you will make us proud by this admirable elevation. It is our prayer that God Almighty will give you the required wisdom and guidance to execute the functions of this office effectively and with outstanding results.
Willie urged Ntekim to remain focused and always remember the motto of their great alma mater, “Indeo Stamus,” when faced with challenges, adding “We are solidly behind you”.
The Akwa Ibom governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, gave approval for the appointment of Ntekim as the state auditor-general following the clearance by the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
