The Akwa Ibom governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has bagged an international Award on Private Sector Participation in governance and huge Foreign Direct Investments in Akwa Ibom State.
The Award was presented to the governor in the United Kingdom during the Award Dinner at the just concluded London Political Summit.
The commissioner for information and strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong, who represented the governor at the awardpresentation ceremony, said the governor was honoured for his tireless efforts in expanding the public governance space for more private sector participation.
Ememobong affirmed that Governor Emmanuel has through this measure attracted huge Foreign Direct Investments, FDI to the State in the areas of aviation, syringe production, agriculture and agro allied sectors of the economy, among others.
He intimated that the event had many dignitaries drawn from the political class, trade and Investments as well as the academia, among others.
