… Agriculture Commissioner Says, As She Bids Farewell To Management And Staff

The outgone commissioner for agriculture, Dr Glory Edet, has thanked God for his faithfulness throughout her appointment as Commissioner in Akwa Ibom State government.
Edet stated this during her farewell speech at the ministry’s conference room
She recalled that her appointment as commissioner came since 2013.
“God has been so faithful. He brought me into governance in a divine way and first sent me to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare and used me to glorify Himself. At a time, I was supervising the Ministry of Trade and Investment, then for the first time we had Ministry of Agriculture and Women Affairs, I was the commissioner and finally to the Ministry of Agriculture,” she stated.
The erstwhile commissioner said God’s grace enabled her to diligently discharge her duties over the years as a commissioner.
Describing the governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, as result oriented, she thanked him for trusting her for the appointment as a commissioner in his administration. She informed the staff of her resignation to enable her to contest for the forthcoming PDP primary elections
She appreciated the management, directors, zonal directors,staff as well as farmers across the 31 local government areas for the team spirit and cooperation in ensuring the successes so far recorded in the ministry and state during her tenure.
In her remarks, the permanent secretary, Mrs Mary UkoeteBassey, commended the commissioner for exhibiting good leadership during her tenure in the ministry and wished her well in future endeavour.
The event featured prayer for the staff by the commissioner, gift to the ministry’s staff, new uniform to the ministry’s choir, presentation of a portrait to the commissioner and song rendition.
