The maiden inter houses sports competition of Flowinton Montessori School ended Saturday with White House emerging overall winner with 434 points in the various field and track events competed among the eight houses.

Purple House grabbed the second position with 430 points, while the third position was taken by yellow house with 399 points. Trophies were presented to the victorious houses, respectively.

Speaking at the sport competition held at the West Itam Secondary School Sports Complex, the proprietress, Flowington Montessori School, Mrs Florence Eton, said sports was a crucial part a pupil’s growth and development, noting that beyond the need for academic training and excellence, they aspire to have children who were active and energetic in all areas.

Eton said a good school does not only aim at improving a pupil’s academic skills, but also help them learn a sense of good sportsmanship, adding that they were seriously preparing their pupils for the sporting activities.

She used the occasion to remind the pupils that there was neither substitute to hard work nor shortcut to success, advising them to be diligent in all they do and always aspire to become better ambassadors of their great school.

Altogether eight houses; white house, purples house, yellow house, green house, pink house, blue house, red house and orange competed in the school’s inter house sports.

Also, seven invited schools including: Shammah International Christian Schools, Presbyterian International Nursery and Primary Schools, Our Lady of Peace Nursery and Primary Schools Rosyhills International Schools, Ospel Nursery and Primary School, Tower of Ivory Nursery and Primary School and Reward Foundation Nursery and Primary School participated in the maiden sports competition.
