Expert has called for urgent need for governments to provide artisan facilities across the country in order to reduce unemployment, youth-restiveness while solving the myriad of problems in the country.

International coordinator, New Breed for Sustainable Development, Mr Ekpenyong Ekpenyong, who stated this in an interview with newsmen in Uyo, said there is also need to train youths in different skills no matter their qualifications.

Ekpenyong, an engineer, revealed that the secret to wealth is skill, stressing that boundless opportunities and possibilities abound for individuals that acquire skills and apply them in service.

He explained that providing artisan facilities across the country would create opportunities for youths to earn a living.

He said if government at all levels would create artisan-training facilities for youths, Nigeria would be a better place.

Ekpenyong said that fact made New Breed for Sustainable Development (TNB) to provide free entrepreneurship training for over 700 youths and free starter packs to the best trainees during the training.

The TNB coordinator added that tools and materials for the training were provided by the group, saying that the target of the foundation is to provide free entrepreneurship training for ten thousand youths in the state in various skills in the areas of catering, makeover, leather works, fashion, among others.

He said the training is in line with Governor Emmanuel’s Dakkadda Philosophy and the group’s mission to promote skill-based education and entrepreneurship in the state.

Beneficiary youths who spoke separately, expressed joy and satisfaction in various skills they acquired, saying that TNB free training has taken them off the streets while transforming them to responsible living.
