ESD 2023: PAT IFON COMMENCES CONSULTATIONS

The Member Representing the people of Eket/ Esit Eket/ Ibeno/ ONNA Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and leading Aspirant for Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District, Hon. Patrick Ifon, has commenced consultations ahead of the party primaries in May.

Ifon took his campaign organization, Tuesday, to consult his family, Ikot Akpan Ishiet village, his ward and Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party in ONNA.

Speaking during the consultation, the BOT member of the PDP, said, his decision to run for Eket Senatorial District seat in the 2023 election is borne from his garnered experiences and network, which he believes, will aid consolidate the gains of the past and present representations and consolidate on it.

“As a member representing Eket Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, my resume has been genuinely polished in terms of the needed qualifications and requisite experience to effectively represent Eket Senatorial District in the Red Chambers come 2023″

Reeling out his plans for the senatorial district, Ifon said his mission of service will be hinged on three major planks; legislation, human capacity development and need-assessed infrastructural contribution, stating further, that he has his wherewithal to contribute enormously to the reduction in unemployment and promised a befitting party secretariat for the PDP in ONNA.

On zoning, Ifon said, vying for the senatorial seat doesn’t strangulate zoning, owing to the fact that there was no agreed order of zoning since its advent in 1999, and since all the federal constituencies in the district has had a fair share, anyone who wins will set the new order.

He emphasized that, as a Nigerian, bounded by the constitution of the Federal Republic as amended, he is vested with the inalienable right to vote and be voted for, and throwing his hat into the ring is his constitutional right.

In his response, the party chairman, Barr. Ubong Adiakpan, thanked the MP for coming to consult the party and making his intention known to the chapter executive members of the PDP in ONNA local government.

He said, Hon. Ifon’s aspiration has every strentgh of legitimacy, noting that he has contributed immensely to the growth of the people, party and deserves support from the home front as a loyal party man.

“The party is appreciative of your positive disposition towards the electorate as evident in the absence of paid security escorts in your entourage…your aspiration has every strength of legitimacy and we pray God’s speed and success.”

Tha Chapter head said, Hon. Ifon has the constitutional right to vote and be voted for, and should go ahead in his quest to represent the people of Eket Senatorial District, and prayed for God’s grace upon his aspiration.

Family members and villagers took their turns to speak glowingly of Ifon’s patriotic and philanthropic dispositions since he was called to serve in different positions in public service, acknowledging that Ifon has never been found wanting in the discharge of his duties to the people, and will deliver as a Senator.
