Ememobong Eulogises General Editor On Birthday

In his continuous effort at motivating staff towards maximum productivity, the Akwa Ibom commissioner for information and strategy has celebrated the general editor of publications in the ministry, Mr Marvellous-Friday Udo, on his birthday, describing him as a quiet operator.

At the event which took place in the office of the editor in the ministry’s headquarters at Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat Complex, Uyo, Comrade Ini Ememobong said, since his assumption of office, the general editor has continued to remain focused on his assigned responsibilities in a very quiet manner as the gentleman he is.

Ememobong, who commended Udo for his meticulous work on publications of the ministry, appreciated him for the contributions he has so far made towards the successes achieved under his surveillance, emphasizing that there could not have been a better day to appreciate him than celebrating him on his birthday. 

The information helmsman who was accompanied to the birthday celebration by the permanent secretary, AkparawaJames Edet and political editors from leading newspapers in Nigeria led by the political editor of the Guardian Newspaper, Muyiwa Adeyemi, said it has become a tradition of the ministry to celebrate birthdays of directors of the ministry in their offices if on work days and in their houses if on weekends, stating that it was heartwarming to have political editors visit on the day the general editor was celebrating his birthday.

Udo expressed gratitude to God for keeping him alive to see another birthday and thanked Ememobong and indeed the management and entire staff of the ministry for the show of love towards him on his birthday.

The general editor thanked the commissioner for his dedicated service to the ministry and exemplary leadership describing him as an unparalleled performer, a father and good boss he had worked with since his employment in the civil service.

Highlights of the event, witnessed by directors in the ministry, were: the singing of birthday songs to the celebrator and cutting of the cake.

Present at the event were: the director of public relations, MrsGrace Akpan; director of technical services, Elder Joseph Etem;director of Smstrategy, Mr Anieken Ukpong; and the representative of the director of Accounts, Mr Umo Thompson.
