Ememobong Applauds Akparawa James Edet’s Appointment As Permanent Secretary

The commissioner for information and strategy has congratulated the director of information in the ministry, Akparawa James Edet, on his appointment as permanent secretary, saying it was predicted over a decade ago. 

 Comrade Ini Ememobong disclosed this in a virtual congratulatory message he presented to the newly sworn in permanent secretary, Thursday, during a reception ceremonyorganised in his honour at Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio Hall, Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo.

 The commissioner stated that most of the predictions madeduring their constant meetings while on interview programmes on AKBC, over a decade ago, have played out in his life, one of which was his appointment as permanent secretary, adding that a lot more will continue to unfold with each passing day.

 He described Edet as an excellent gentleman who is hardworking and dedicated to his duties, reminding him that there was still more work for him to do, as the reward for hardwork is more work.

 The state information helmsman expressed appreciation to all the guests who turned up to identify with the permanent secretary, who he fondly calls “Saint James,” adding that since he was being expected at the reception venue, he had to turn up virtually, with the advancement in technology.

 Ememobong therefore registered his presence and extended warm felicitations to Akparawa James Edet, on his well deserved appointment, following sleepless and tireless nights he spent working towards the success of government under his supervision and that of the retired permanent secretary, MrInyang Jameson.

 On their parts, the chairman on the occasion, Akparawa Okon Okon, a former executive secretary of AKISIEC and the international president of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, Akparawa Patrick Udofia, congratulated Akparawa James Edet, for making the Mboho proud, by emerging as the first member of the socio-cultural group to be appointed a permanent secretary in the State Civil Service.

Responding, the newly sworn-in permanent secretary, Akparawa James Edet, expressed deep appreciation to GovUdom Emmanuel for finding him fit for elevation for higher service to God and humanity and also thanked the head of Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien, for enlisting him among those that were selected for appointment into the covetous office.

 Edet paid glowing tribute to the commissioner for information and strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong, for all the support and love he has enjoyed from him, especially in contributing towards the success of the reception ceremony.

 He extended his gratitude to the Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, Sacred Heart Cathedral, permanent secretaries, the retired permanent secretary of the Ministry, Mr Inyang Jameson, the directors and staff of the Ministry of Information and Strategy,his wife Grace, staff of Inland Revenue and all the guests for their show of love and solidarity.

 Goodwill messages were presented by very important personalities, heads of media organisations and leaders of unions including: the former permanent secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Inyang Jameson; the police public relations officer, PPRO, Odiko MacDon; the director general of Redemption FM, Comfort Umanah and Very Revd Father Donatus Udoette, among others.

 Present at the occasion were the Ntisong Ibibio, Ntisong Paulinus Okon, the permanent secretary, Ministry of Trade and Investment, Mr. Oliver Udoukpo; the permanent secretary, Ministry of Environment and Solid Minerals, Mr. Nsudo Nsudo; and the national publicity secretary of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Dr. Aniekeme Uwa.

 Others included the member representing Itu in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Mr KufreAbasi Edidem; the chairman of Itu Local Government Area, Barr. Etetim Onuk; the chairman of the State Secondary Education Board, Dr Ekaette Ebong Okon and directors in the Ministry of Information and Strategy.

 Also in attendance were the director general of AKBC, Pastor Anietie Ukpe; the general manager and editor-in-chief ofAKNC, Mr. Umoette Umoette; the general manager of NTA(Channel 12) Uyo, Nkechi Iheme; a special assistant to the Governor on Public Affairs, Mr. Raphael Edem; a special assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Mr. Martins Inyangetor and a former director general of AKBC, Mercy Otu.

The event, which was witnessed by staff of the Ministry of Information and Strategy, as well as the crème d’ la crème of the society, featured the singing of the Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio Anthem, musical rendition, winning and dining.
