The Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District candidate under the platform of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Mr Emmanuel Ekon has assured the people of the senatorial district of effective representation when elected into office as senator.
Ekon who emerged the candidate of the party during the party primary, gave the assurance in the senatorial district when youths of the Senatorial District paid him a solidarity visit declaring their total support to his ambition.
He said his senatorial ambition derives from his zeal and determination to give the youths and other members of the senatorial district a new face of life through life – touching projects.
He continued that his aspiration was also to consolidate on laid down empowerment programmes initiated when he was a member of the national assembly which was mar by a siege in power during his 2019 national assembly aspiration.
The Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District hopeful explained that as immediate past member of the national assembly well versed with knowledge and dynamic of the House of Representatives was in a better position and well equipped to bring dividend of democracy to the area by attracting federal government present through projects, employment and human capital development programmes.
The Young Progressives Party candidate for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District while assuring the people of the senatorial district that his administration will operate open door policy as well as carrying people along devoid nepotism when elected into office, cautioned them against vote buying explaining that such will disenfranchised them from voting candidates of their choice.
Emmanuel Ekon, who further explained that political office like senate needs a competent hand with legislative experience, acknowledged the people that ranking and old members are always considered first in appointment into key offices and committees hence the need he should be voted into power as senator.
Ekon while appreciating the youths for the solidarity visit and for their unflinching support to his ambition advised them to also extend their support to other Young Progressives Party candidates in the state since YPP has come to stay in Akwa lbom.
