The 2022 Batch B Stream II Corps members have been commended for their level of discipline, dedication and charisma in the orientation camp.
The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Muhammadu Kaku Fadah, made the commendation on Saturday, at what he termed his home-coming visit to the Akwa Ibom Permanent Orientation Camp at Ikot Itie Udung in Nsit Atai Local Government Area of the state.
He recalledd that about 30 years ago, he was once a corps member serving in the state, hence the term, home-coming visit.
Fadah commended the 1,260 corps members deployed to Akwa Ibom on their good behavior and adaptation to the regimented lifestyle in camp, advising them to be law-abiding citizens and to promote the core values of the scheme.
“For the corps members, you have been behaving very well, as the state coordinator said and the sky will be your limit. I pray you will all excel. This is my wish and prayer for you”, he said.
He also tasked them to work very hard to actualise their dreams in life, while urging them to be loyal to the NYSC authorities in camp and in their place of primary assignments as well as enjoined them to enjoy their stay in Akwa Ibom.
Fadah also applauded the state coordinator, Mrs Chinyere Ihuoma Ekwe and other NYSC officials for their hard work and diligence in carrying out the activities of the camp in lieu of the timetable.
Ekwe, the state coordinator, on behalf of the officials and the corps members, presented a portrait to the NYSC Director-General in appreciation of his visit to the camp.
She thanked him tremendously and prayed for God to grant him journey mercies back.
Later on, the Director-General donated two bulls to the corps members in addition to some cash gifts that was presented to some groups that received him specially.
Some highlights of the visit included presentations from the Dance and Drama CDS groups, Man O’ War, NYSC Band and the presence of some collaborating agencies.
