COPA Adopts Umo Eno As PDP Sole Guber Candidate

Moved by the wave of endorsements and adoption trailing the unveiling of Pastor Umo Eno as the preferred aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 governorship election, the College of Personal Aides to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State has February 18, 2022 adopted Pastor Umo Eno as their sole candidate of the party.

In a motion moved by Mr Essien Ndueso and seconded by MrsI. D. Okoko, the college stressed that they were excited with the aspiration of Pastor Umo Eno with a determination to support and mobilize support for his aspiration.

Directing the motion for the adoption, the chairman, Advisory Council of the college, Isantim Kenneth Okon, noted that Pastor Umo Eno is a hidden treasure, which comes only but once in a while for a generation, stressing that the college has no reason not to adopt Pastor Umo Eno.

He emphasized that the college was not endorsing but adopting Pastor Umo Eno as their sole candidate for the 2023 governorship election.

On his part, the dean of the college, Elder Ufot Ebong, said he has known Pastor Umo Eno for a long time and can attest to his character and managerial abilities.

He said the college has accepted Pastor Umo Eno as the sole candidate of the party, and prayed that God will grant him the grace to further on the path of development through the three gateways of land, water and air.

Speaking on behalf of Ikot Ekpene, Uyo and Eket Senatorial District aides, Comrade Inibehe Umah, Anthony Akan, and MrsJanet Amba respectively said they have a moral burden to support the aspiration of Pastor Umo Eno, stressing that they cannot afford to do otherwise.

Addressing the college, the leading aspirant of the PDP, Pastor Umo Eno, said he is a product of grace and mercy, adding that the destiny of men are in the hands of God. 

He said his visit to COPA was not because he was the most qualified, but that grace has found and favoured him to serve Akwa Ibom State as governor in 2023.

Pastor Umo Eno, who is an accomplished entrepreneur, maintained that he was ready to engage with others who had interest in the race as well as the generality of Akwa Ibom people to ensure continuous development of the state.

He noted that there is a wide gap between the upper and the lower class without the middle class, adding that efforts would be made to develop the middle class which, according to him is the major stimulator of a social economy.

Pastor Eno therefore appealed for the support of COPA to bring to fruition the vision of furthering the development of Akwa Ibom State.

Introducing the aspirant, the director general of the campaign, Assam Assam, International President of Maintain Peace Movement (MPM), Mr Emmanuel Enoidem and the political leader of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, Senator EffiongBob, extolled the qualities and abilities of Pastor Umo Eno,describing him as a masterpiece of godliness and appealed to the college to stand by him and mobilize support for him to ensure success at the primaries and the general election.
