The Akwa Ibom Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), has described the commissioner for information and strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong, as an answer to the prayers of journalists in the state.

State chairman of the union, Comrade Amos Etuk, stated this in Uyo, Thursday, while presenting a goodwill message at the send-forth/reception ceremony of the retired and serving permanent secretaries of the Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr Inyang Jameson and Akparawa James Edet, respectively, at Helemah Events Centre, Uyo.

Etuk said before the assumption of office of Ememobong as the commissioner for information and strategy, the relationship between the ministry and the NUJ was frosty and expressed happiness that the relationship has now become cordial with numerous dividends from the partnership.

He noted that soon after assumption of office, Ememobong paid a solidarity visit to the State Council of NUJ, where a new course was charted for the straightening of the crooked paths and mapping out of plans for fruitful collaboration between the ministry and NUJ.

He said the collaboration has manifested into a symbiotic relationship between the two organisations with mutually beneficial dividends especially in government/press harmonious relationship being enjoyed in the state.

Etuk appreciated the information commissioner for his numerous initiatives towards the capacity building of staff of the ministry and particularly thanked the commissioner for theappointment of Mrs Blessing Urua as the director of information and the elevation of other directors in the ministry.

He congratulated the retired permanent secretary, Mr InyangJameson, on his meritorious 35 years of civil service career, especially for reaching the apex of his career as permanent secretary and saluted the serving permanent secretary on his well deserved appointment while wishing him a successful tenure of office.

The NUJ chairman further congratulated all newly promoted staff of the Ministry as well as those born in the month of March and prayed God to grant Ememobong favour and grace to continue to lift the Ministry and indeed the entire Information sector to higher heights.
