A new state director for information has emerged in the Ministry of Information and Strategy.
She is Mrs. Blessing Urua, who until her re-assignment, was the director in-charge of Technical Services and dean of directors in the Ministry.
The re-assignment was made by the commissioner for information and strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong at a management meeting, Monday, February 28, 2022 in the Conference Room of the Ministry.
According the commissioner, Urua is the most senior director in the Ministry and should therefore fill the vacant position ofDirector of Information, created with the appointment of the former director of information, Akparawa James Edet as a permanent secretary.
Ememobong expressed the hope that the re-assignment of the most senior director, as the director of information, will motivate other directors and give them room to proof their mettle and exhibit their full capacities in the performance of their duties.
He congratulated Urua on her new office and urged other directors to rally round her and give her the necessary support to succeed for the benefit and development of the Ministry.
Also speaking, the newly posted permanent secretary to the Ministry of Information and Strategy, Akparawa James Edet, expressed deep appreciation to the commissioner on the appointment of Mrs. Blessing Urua as the director of information, stating that the action was very impressive and highly commendable.
He congratulated Urua on her re-assignment and thanked all the directors for supporting the commissioner in his resolve to totally turn around the fortunes of the Ministry and prayed that with this new development, directors in the Ministry will experience elevation and enjoy appointment at all fronts.
Others re-assigned included Mr Joseph Etem, as director of Technical Services and Mr. Aniekan Ukpong as director of Strategy. The re-assignment takes immediate effect.
Present at the management meeting were the director of Public Relations, Mrs Grace Akpan; the director of Administration, Mrs.Tiuba Nduonofit; the director of Finance and Accounts, Mrs. Stella Akpanekwere; the director of Archives, Mr. Edet Nsungwara and the General Editor of Publications in the Ministry, Mr Marvellous-Friday Udoh.
