The Akwa Ibom government has declared Thursday 16th (yesterday) and Friday, 17th June, 2022 (today) as mid-term break for all public and private primary and secondary schools in the state.
This is in compliance with the directive of Gov Udom Emmanuel towards ensuring that all private and public primary and secondary schools across the state have a unified academic calendar for school sessions.
A release by the commissioner for education, Mrs Idongesit Etiebet, enjoined parents and guardians to take note and ensure that their children and wards observe the holidays. She admonished parents to engage their children in productive ventures to avoid unnecessary loitering on the streets.
The education boss wished all Akwa Ibom students and pupils a fruitful holiday and advised that they be of good behaviour and use the period to read and carry out their assignments for better performance.
Academic activities shall resume Monday June 20, 2022 in continuation of the third term of the 2021/2022 academic session.
