You never know with Aity, the multiple award-winning gospel artiste and culture icon from the Niger-Delta state of Akwa Ibom.

Back in Year 2000 when Aity Dennis- Inyang was working her way up, hosting and appearing in countless live shows between her base in Lagos and Akwa Ibom State, it was easy to sit with her at interviews in church (She co-pastors Sure Word Assembly, Okota, Lagos with her husband) or her family house in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

In time, her songs gathered prodigious acclaim across the country and drew international attention.Aity moved up to command performances at the behest of state governments and society heavies. She has sung before Nigerian Presidents and the creme de la creme of the Nigerian society.

There has been a long list of awards within and outside the country. Just last year, CLIMA, an international entertainment chain bestowed an international award on Aity naming her epic music CD, You Are the greatest (which featured Eben) as best Gospel Video of the Year 2021. In the midst of competing deadlines,

Aity manages to stay close to her immediate constituency of ordinary Nigerians.

Right after the AKCarols in Uyo last year end, the vivacious singer jetted abroad to perform in a series of concerts in Houston in Texas.

In between, she waltzed her way through preparations by Niger Deltans in Texas, USA to usher in the New Year. Aity was promptly drafted to lead the Akwa Ibom segment of the performance.

It turned out that for one entertaining season, the Niger Delta was enrobed in Akwa Ibom colours and rhythms!

Relishing the moments, Aity says”It was very interesting. I had to change my entire costume. I was so elated to lead the audience to sing our Akwa Ibom songs right there in Houston! The audience was ecstatic.”

Aity has flown the flag of Akwa Ibom and the Niger-Delta on several international tours. There’s a consciousness that the bearer must project the positive aspects of his culture.

Aity has done a lot to put her state in positive light.

“Akwa Ibom people have many positive sides and I try my level best to let outsiders especially, those in the West know that good things abound here. Accordingly, we must not feel inferior. We must not try to imitate the West at all times”,Aity gushes.

Back from Texas, Aity is back in Nigeria to star in a series of concerts in Nigeria. Presently, the songstress is working on her new music video titled, Ada Mi Amono Ko Abasi. For Aity, the beat goes on.
