Akwa Ibom commissioner for information and strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong, has bagged the Code of Conduct Bureau, Excellence Award.
The award was presented to the information commissioner, Monday, in Uyo, by the Chairman, code of Conduct Bureau, Prof Muhammad Isah, during an audience with the commissioner in his office, Block 11, Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat Complex, Uyo.
Presenting the award, the CCB chairman said, the exercise was in recognition of the sterling performance of Comrade Ini Ememobong in maintaining high standards as a commissioner in the Akwa Ibom State government’s employ, vis-a-vis strict adherence to the code of conduct principles for public officers in the state and the country in general.
Isah added that the bureau was further moved to select Comrade Ememobong for the excellence award because of his commitment towards ensuring that workers in the Ministry of Information and Strategy live up to their bidding in providing the required information and data to the bureau for proper filing of their service records.
Represented by the state director of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Mr. Ikpeme Amba, the chairman lauded the foresight of the information commissioner in setting up the State Strategic Information Management Committee, reiterating that the Committee has created an impactful cordial working relationship between Federal Government establishments in the state and the Ministry of Information and Strategy and indeed the state government at large.
Responding, the commissioner for information and strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong, expressed appreciation to the Code of Conduct Bureau for finding him worthy of the Excellence Award, stating that the award is a clarion call to do more towards the growth and development of the public service.
He commended the Code of Conduct Bureau for the ethical and disciplinary procedures put in place to ensure that workers are put on the right path of ethical conduct during their service year, emphasizing that, the practice has provided order and sanity in the public service.
Ememobong pledged the support of the ministry and indeed that of the state government to the Code of Conduct Bureau and wished the bureau success in the discharge of its enshrined mandate and assigned responsibilities.
The event which featured the presentation of manuels of the CCB to the information commissioner as well as the publications of the ministry to the bureau, was witnessed by the directors of Archives and Public Relations in the ministry; Eunice Egharevba and Mrs. Grace Akpan.
