The Transition Committee Chairman of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, Hon. (Comr.) Nsikanabasi Ukobot, Thursday, 21st March 2024 led other members of the committee on paid a courtsey visit to the palace of the paramount Ruler of Ibiono Ibom, HRM Okuku (Dr.) Ime Udousoro Inyang to interface with the leadership of the traditional institution in the area.
The visit marked a pivotal moment in the Chairman’s first 100 days in office, showcasing his dedication to inclusive governance and stewardship.
During the visit, the Chairman highlighted the progress and achievements made under his leadership, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between local government authorities and traditional institutions in driving development initiatives. He underscored the significance of traditional leaders in preserving cultural heritage and promoting socio-economic growth within the community.
Addressing the Paramount Ruler and members of the Traditional Rulers Council, Cmrd. Ukobot outlined key initiatives implemented within his 100Days in office, education, youth empowerment programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare services.
He emphasized his led administration’s commitment to all-inclusive and participatory governance, inviting feedback, constructive criticisms and suggestions from the traditional leaders which he said would be of essence to further improve on delivering good governance.
In response, the Paramount Ruler, HRM (Dr.) Ime Udousoro Inyang, the Okuku Ibiono Ibom, Okuku Essien Akpan Ebong (the 17th), and other traditional leaders commended the Chairman for his proactive approach and tangible achievements within a short period. They expressed their readiness to collaborate closely with his led administration to address pressing community needs and promote peace, unity, and progress in the land.
In the words of the Paramount Ruler, “I urge every Ibiono Ibom indigene to join hand and support Ukobot’s led administration so they can do more and more because this has been the best leadership I have ever witnessed in Ibiono Ibom”
The visit concluded with a renewed commitment from both parties to work together in harmony for the collective well-being of the people of Ibiono Ibom.
