
… Lady Obareki, Others Mobilise Support For APC Ahead Of 2027 Elections

The coordinator of the Office of the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State has encouraged Akwa Ibom women to actively participate in the various political activities that are holding in the build up to the 2027 general elections.
Lady Helen Eno Obareki, while addressing the women of Urue Offong/Oruko who gathered, Wednesday, at the Local Government Council Hall in their numbers to receive the delegation of female stakeholders led by the State deputy governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, charged the women leaders to get other women in their circles to participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise, and the e-registration of the APC.
“I am here today to thank you for always supporting the governor. You have done it before and you will do it again. Urue Offong women ARISE and re-elect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, and other APC candidates.
“Revalidate your APC membership and participate actively in the Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),” she added.
Lady Obareki also conveyed the appreciation of Governor Umo Eno to the people of Urue Offong/Oruko for their massive support during the 2023 governorship election, assuring them that challenges encountered will be resolved, through the provision of people-centric projects across the state.
Also speaking, the State deputy governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, said Governor Eno had displayed a strong commitment to the development of the area through the execution of key projects in the local government area, and was deserving of a second term.
Others who spoke during the sensitisation programme included the commissioner for women affairs and social welfare, Mrs. Inibehe Etukudo; chairman of Urue Offong/Oruko Local Government Council, Hon Uno Etim Uno, and his wife; the member representing Oron Federal Constituency, Hon. Martins Esin; State House of Assembly member, Hon. Precious Selong; among others.
From Urue Offong/Oruko, the sensitisation team moved to the Civic Center, Oron Local Government Area, where speaker after speaker created awareness on civic duties around voter registration, as well as the need for women to form themselves into cooperative societies, to benefit from government empowerment through accredited cooperatives.
At Oron, the coordinator of the Office of the First Lady of Akwa Ibom, Lady Helen Eno Obareki had a simple message: “On behalf of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, I’m saying thank you for putting our compassionate governor in office, in 2023. Thank you for the past, today, and the future …”
The January 28 engagement in addition to those of Monday 26 at Abak and Ikot Ekpene, brings to four, the total number of local government areas covered, out of the 31 in Akwa Ibom.
