The commissioner for women affairs and social welfare says plans are underway for a women sensitisation tour across all local government areas aimed at promoting unity among Akwa Ibom women at the grassroots.
Mrs. Inibehe Silas made this known during the July edition of the Akwa Ibom State Women Monthly Prayer Service, tagged: “God is Turning Things Around”, which took place at Government House Banquet Hall, Uyo.
Silas charged all female stakeholders at the local government level to synergise measures to ensure the smooth success of the planned sensitisation tour, thanking Governor Umo Eno for recognising the role of women in state building by giving them opportunity to serve in several political positions in the state.
The First Lady designate, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, took the only Bible reading at the service drawn from Joel 2: 15 – 27.
In an exhortation, Evangelist Mfon Israel described divine turnaround as a supernatural intervention where God reverses the irreversible, bringing about drastic changes that lead to favourable and life transforming outcomes.
She emphasised that when God steps in to turn situations around, it ushers in peace, fruitfulness, celebration, abundance, compensation and satisfaction, and encouraged believers to draw closer to God, assuring that such intimacy with Him paves the way for divine turnaround.
The service featured a pep talk on health, by a resident doctor of Family Medicine in the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital and Founder of RennyCares Foundation, Dr. Irene Udom who spoke on “Prevention, your Health and your Future”, as well as special thanksgiving by women born in the month of July.
