In its quest to actualising the Akwa Ibom Tourism Master Plan, the Akwa Ibom government is hosting a tourism summit in the New Year to draw the State’s tourism master plan.
The State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, who announced this, Tuesday, at the inauguration of CEEDAPEG Hotels, Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo, noted the importance of the hospitality industry in achieving the tourism goal of the State, and assured of his government’s readiness to continuously partner different players in the hospitality industry to actualise its tourism master plan.
Eno saw the hospitality industry as being very critical to actualising the State’s Tourism Master Plan, noting that tourism is a key component of the ARISE Agenda, and sits very close to his heart.
He said the State was recording some laudable strides in the tourism sector including the ARISE Park with nine-hole Golf Course, and many other features, even as the state is rising exponentially in tourism.
According to him, thousands of people are trooping into the state daily to live, work and to experience its hospitality, saying there is need to have more quality hotels such as CEEDAPEG.
He lauded the managing director and chief executive officer of CEEDAPEG for putting up such magnitude of investment that will impact the general economy of the State.
The chairman of Ewet Luxury Apartments Limited, Elder Ubong Obot, represented by Mr. Asuquo Antai, described the inauguration as a major milestone in the tourism and hospitality industry in the State, adding that CEEDAPEG is a remarkable addition to the growing portfolio of top-tier hotels in the State and across Nigeria.
The managing director and chief executive officer of CEEDAPEG Hotels, Dr. Effiong Afiakurue, said CEEDAPEG Hotels, which has 117 luxury rooms and suites, two executive rooms, two-bedroom apartments for extended stays and a presidential suite featuring a private 15-seater conference room, and many others, is designed to redefine hospitality in the State and Nigeria, generally.
Afiakurue thanked the governor for inaugurating the facility and assured of continued support for the development of the State.
