Tinubu Hails Adeleke’s Victory, Says Osun Poll Reaffirms Nigeria’s Democratic Strength

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election in the just-concluded Osun State governorship election, describing the victory as a strong affirmation of the confidence the people of the state have in his leadership.
The President said the outcome of the election also demonstrated that democracy continues to thrive in Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu said he had personally called Adeleke to congratulate him on his electoral victory and wished him success as he begins another four-year term.
The President urged the governor to make unity and development his priorities, calling on him to use his renewed mandate to unite the people of Osun State, irrespective of their political affiliations or choices during the election.
He urged Adeleke to rally the people around shared goals of growth, stability and sustainable socio-economic development.
Tinubu also commended the other contestants for the courage and discipline they demonstrated throughout the electoral process, noting that their participation contributed to the deepening of Nigeria’s democratic culture.
He said the election reflected the will of the people and reaffirmed the strength of Nigeria’s democratic institutions.
The President further commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agencies for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.
He urged all stakeholders to respect the outcome of the poll and work together in the interest of Osun State and the continued progress of Nigeria’s democracy.
